FUNDRAISING WORKSHOP
May 10, 2023
Members attended the offices of the comhairle in Roscommon to learn of upcoming funding schemes. The Town and Village Renewal Scheme is set to open in the summer with provision for feasibility study support for up to €50,000. We are preparing to apply for this and to also re-apply for the enhancement fund to which we were unsuccessful last year. (see more in article further down)
FAILTE IRELAND JUST TRANSITION FUND OF €68,000,000

Members of the committee attended a briefing in Roscommon regarding the Just Transition Fund. We provided survey input on behalf of Elphin Development Group. It is expected that funding of the order of €50,000 for feasibility will be awarded through this scheme. We are preparing to submit for feasibility funding. MEETING MINISTER HUMPHRIES
March 1, 2023
Valerie and Frank met Minister Humphries during her visit to the Hub. Also present was Senator Eugene Murphy. Frank gave a brief introduction to the Minister regarding the Elphin Development Group and what we hope to achieve. Her steer was that there is funding available - build strong submissions through the council.
SUBMISSION FOR €274,000 GRANT MADE.

We made a submission through Roscommon County Council through the Town and Villages fund for €274,000, comprising streetscape enhancement, Heritage site enhancements, approach sinage and landscaping. We were ultimately unsuccessful in the application and raised our disappointment with the council who raised it with Minister Humphries. We will apply again in 2023
TRIP TO CASTLEREA

Members of the committee were hosted at the The Hub in Castlerea and at The Trintiy Arts Center. We gained insights into how these projects got to be and how they operate. They are a credit to the hard work of the community and the support of people and businesses in the area.

Elphin Development Group (EDG) is a local voluntary development group which, with the support of Roscommon Co Council, aims to provide facilities that will make the town a better place in which to live and visit. The survey closed with 100+ responses. We are working on analysing the responses and will feed that into our plans
